London: opposite Katharine-Street, in the Strand.: A. Millar, 1748. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good +. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. VG+, 1st edition, 1748. In modern full dark calf (to style), gilt edge tooling. Spine, raised bands, gilt tooling, gilt titles to red morocco label. Internally, [2], (iii-iv) contents, 256 pp, woodcut to titlepage, some light offsetting, lacks the 2 leaves of adverts, new (old) endpaper, small paper repair to upper tip of titlepage, small binders label to epd. (Folio, 97*166 mm). (ESTC T4022. Beauchamp p36. Alibone 915). Often known as "An Inquiry Concerning Human Understanding". There were possibly as many as 750 copies published. And would be printed again in 1750 & 1751. Around 1740, after the publication of his Treatise, Hume began writing a series of shorter essays on specific economic, political, literary and philosophical topics. These were not published in literary journals or reviews, but rather in a series of essay collections. Over the course of his lifetime, Hume revised and corrected the essays and assembled new collections, combining prior collections, sometimes changing titles, adding more essays and sometimes withdrawing others.

There are no export restrictions.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS You may request to cancel a book order or return a book within 14 days of receipt of the book. A book may be returned for one of the following reasons: Item damaged: The item was damaged during shipping. Item not as described: The condition of the book does not match the description on Madoc Books. Incorrect item delivered: The title, cover or edition of the book is different than the title on the order. Item not received: The estimated delivery date has passed and the book has still not arrived. To cancel a book order or return a book simply contact Madoc with your order confirmation details and to obtain the return address.
DELIVERY DETAILS We ship all of our orders via Royal Mail. Orders are usually shipped within 2 or 3 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized or a multiple in books we will contact you to let you know that extra shipping is required. Insurance costs are usually dictated by the shippers, should they be higher than normal, then we will contact you for your acceptance.
