New York: Tudor Publishing Co., 1934. First American Edition, 3rd Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo (283 pages, illustrated end papers, frontispiece, 19 illustrations, bibliography, index.) . Originally the trade route with Mexico, this trail connecting Santa Fe with Missouri also served as the 1846 invasion route during the Mexican-American War, and then again as the major trade route until the introduction of the railroad in New Mexico in 1880. A good copy, gilt lettering on spine and cover, binding shaken but sound, corners slightly frayed, spine rubbed & a bit faded, without dust jacket, front hinge split, contents clean save for light markings on page facing half title.
