Volume #3 in the thrilling YA series featuring the sleuthing brothers Frank & Joe Hardy, who follow in th footsteps of their detective father & solve cases packed with mystery, excitement, & adventure! Orig. published in 1927, this is a Book Club Edition with a rewritten text from 1962, revised "to incorporate the most up-to-date methods used by police & private detectives. '' Larger than the original editions, this hardcover has navy blue cloth over boards with gilt lettering to spine. In 181 pages with frontispiece & internal illustrations, likely by Russell Tandy, but unattributed here. Condition is VG: completely clean, with minor rubbing & bumping to extremities & all corners. Title page slightly creased at top edge. Pages white; binding strong & straight. The unclipped DJ is downgraded to only Good due to insect damage (small chips) around all edges, but colors are bright with no fading.
