First Edition, First Printing. Near Fine in a Good+ dustjacket. Signed by the author. Yellow and beige boards with red lettering on spine. Binding is solid, book is square with one corner lightly bumped and minimal shelf wear. Interior is clean with no bookplates, previous owner names, etc. The dustjacket has original $4.95 price intact, rubbed with chipping at head and foot of spine. Protected in archival Gaylord cover. Fourth novel from the author of The Manchurian Candidate and Prizzi's Honor. This is an association copy, warmly inscribed on the front free endpaper to legendary Random House senior editor Joe Fox, signed and dated by Richard Condon on January 18, 1962. Basis for the 1969 British-American comedy Western film directed by Richard Quine and starring Richard Widmark, Chaim Topol, and Cesar Romero with a screenplay by Condon. Carefully packaged and shipped in a box.
