About This Item
Very good in cream white buckram cloth with black and tobacco colored embossment and titles, pictorial road map endpapers, orange topstain. 'Published by the Viking Press, 1962' to copyright page, no printings listed. Lower corner to front board is bumped and slightly faded around edge, else contents clean, binding sharp. Dust jacket is heavily sunned and rubbed with a closed tear to front panel and chipping and loss around spine, yet is unclipped (4.95). Altogether a serviceable copy, handsomely preserved in mylar.
Synopsis
Travels with Charley: In Search of America is a travelogue by American author John Steinbeck. It documents the road trip he took with his French standard poodle Charley around the United States, in 1960. He wrote that he was moved by a desire to see his country on a personal level, since he made his living writing about it.
