Edizione originale del 1776 di questa importante opera scientifica del biologo italiano Lazzaro Spallanzani (1729-1799), il “Padre scientifico” della fecondazione artificiale. Spallanzani confutò la teoria della generazione spontanea con un esperimento poi perfezionato da Louis Pasteur. In quest'opera raccoglie alcune teorie sulla fecondazione. "Il trattato principale nel secondo volume degli Opuscoli confermò ed estese le osservazioni di Leeuwenhoek sugli spermatozoi (iniziato nel 1677) e confutò i concetti sbagliati di Buffon sulla natura e origine della natura... Gli altri tre opuscoli sono di minore importanza.
