Presentation copy inscribed by Hoover on the front endpaper, "To Prof. Eliot Jones (and Mrs. Jones) With the wishes for a Happy New Year (if any) Herbert Hoover." Eliot Jones, author of five books, was a professor at Stanford (Hoover's alma mater) for 35 years. Dust wrapper slightly chipped at edges, with 1½-inch tear to top of front cover; 1-inch tear to middle of spine; o/w Fine.
