Recent blue cloth and endpapers. Gilt title to front cover and spine. This work includes a Prospectus [1872] pp. 1-8 and then continues with Part I. [1872] pp. 1-32, Part II. [1873] pp. 33-64, and Part III. [1874] pp. 65-88. No further parts of this work were published. Two hand-colored plates as well as a double in black/white. Title page and Prospectus page backed with no loss to text, as bottom of pages were damaged (see image). Previous owner's name to front endpaper and previous owner's partially erased inscription in pencil to title page. Moderate tape residue throughout. Tears to sides of initial pages not affecting text with minor pencil notations. No other markings. Rare. 9.5 x 11.75 in
