Illustrated with 12 full-page color plates by Heinrich Lefler and Joseph Urban, from the Andersen-Kalender of 1911; pictorial endpapers; decorated initials, title page and chapter headings in color; other tinted illustrations by Czech artists. Folio. Original gilt-stamped pictorial green cloth. Pesti Napló Kiadasa, Budapest 1911. First Edition. Heinrich Lefler worked primarily in Vienna as a member of the Künstlerhaus (1891) and by late 1890s he became one of Austrias first artists to design posters, then an emerging and highly popular medium. Together with Joseph Urban, he designed costumes, interiors, furniture and accessories. In 1900 they co-founded the Hagenbund, an artists cooperative that exhibited works by a number of important figures including Oskar Kokoschka and Egon Schiele. Cover slightly soiled, heal of spine chipped and slightly warped; front hinge cracked; some foxing and soiling to interior; o/w a Very Nice copy of this fine Art Nouveau illustrated book.
