About This Item

Gollancz, 1951. 1st edition. Hardcover. Fine green boards, very clean pages and endpapers, in a very good-plus dustjacket, slightly spotted on rear panel by the spine fold, a couple of small nicks on rear panel and a small price-clip, else looking very attractive. The first impression of the first novel in the author's hugely successful series pitting the wily Catholic priest Don Camillo against the Italian village's Communist mayor, Peppone.
