Covering the area from Newfoundland to the Mississippi River and from Hudson Bay to Florida, Senex’s map provides extensive geographical information on the southeastern United States. The map shows Quebec, ‘Mount Royal’, the St. Lawrence River, northern lakes and rivers and the five Great Lakes. “…[A]fter the appearance in 1718 of Delisle’s “Carte Du Mississipi” Senex revised his conception of this area, following Delisle only in small part. By this process Senex produced curiously distorted maps of the Great Lakes.
