During the 1950s, after the publication of Lucky Jim, Kingsley Amis was known as one of The Angry Young Men. Some of the of the anger may be gone, but the wit is still there. This a funny, literate and satirical ghost story, although the ghost isn't the protagonist's main problem. That seems to be to find a way to get his wife, his girlfriend, and himself, in the same bed at the same time...

Great little item from Ms Salmonson, with some fine illustrations by Thomas Wiloch. Limited to 250 copies, a reasonably uncommon item, guaranteed to send a chill...

Subtitled "The Art and Science of Modern Warfare," this covers events from the Relief of Ladysmith during the Boer War and the Battle of Tsushima in Russo-Japanese War of 1905 to the Falklands War of 1982 and Operation Desert Storm in 1991. It provides a clear picture of the changing tactics of military operations, the successes and failures, the dos and don'ts. It should be required reading for military strategists.
