About This Item
Milwaukee, WI: [Yippie], 1970. Broadside. Four-page broadside, 11x17 inches, announcing a Yippie-backed event in solidarity with the Black Panthers; front panel has some yellow stains, which penetrate to the next page. Penned note at the end by "J.C" (?) personally invites the unnamed recipient to hang out that weekend. "Milwaukee will grind to a halt this month, coming to a total stop Sept. 25-28, during LIBERATION III. Black Panthers Jesse White, Booker Collins and Earl Leverette go to trial Sept. 21 on bogus charges of attempting to murder a cop. The case against them is so crummy (how can you shoot ANYTHING out of the back window of a Volkswagon?) that it would be laughable......if the 3 didn't face 30 year sentences. There is no way we will let the govern- ment jail them in silence." Speakers announced for the concluding rally include Bobby Rush and Jerry Rubin.
