Extra ordinary lithograph of Dalail al Khairat originally copied by the well-known scribe Halil Shukri (Sukru) the student of Suleyman Vehbi. In a Rococo Ottoman Style binding of the period of the Sultan Abdul Mejid. Printed in the Imperial press, Istanbul 1262 H. and completely illustrated by hand with a hand made miniature of Mecca and Medina.
Halil Sukru came from Bursa where he learned from the well-known scribe Suleyman Vehbi (wrote the miniature Hiliye no. 000043 in our inventory) . He was a Nakshibandi Hafiz , wrote a Qur'an in 1252 and appointed as a calligraphy teacher in Mekteb-i Maarif in İstanbul where he dead after 1268 H (1851) .

Abdullah al Giridi (initially from Crete) born and died in Egypt . He was a historian and admiral in the Egyptian navy . He learned in the naval school where he appointed as a director there , then a deputy of the ministry of war . He participated in the revolutionary movement of Orabi Pasha but didn't judged . Beside Arabic, he was fluent in English , French, Italian, Turkish, and some in Russian. He wrote a comprehensive work on history called : Haqa'iq al Akhbar 'an Doual al Bihar , which printed in three volumes in Bulaq , Cairo. (Khayr du Din al Zirikli : al A'laam vol. 1 p. 310)

18 th c Approx 9 meters by 21 cm in Ottoman Turkish Ta'liq (Farisi) script consists of 56 folding pages (Muraqqa'a) Possibly written by the calligrapher, Ali el Misli's, him self. Folding genealogical manuscript, numbered in 28 lvs beginning with the ancient Turks during Noah and Abraham's era passing with the Turk Khans until the Ottoman Sultan Ertugrul Gazi. The calligrapher was the grand son of Ishak Zade Mehmed Zuhuri Efendi. He was known with his fast and fine Ta'liq script. He was learned the Ta'liq from Durmus Zade and practiced calligraphy for approx. 60 years. He dead in 1189 AH. 1775 AD.
