All edges gilt [iv]57[3]pp with 10 full page chromolithographic illustrations each with a captioned paper guards. There is a some rubbing to the spine tips and corners and edges with minor loss of cloth on the corners and 0.5 cm loss at the head of the spine. There are small cracks on the edges of the spine with minor loss but the notoriously delicate spine is intact and the binding remains firm. Internally clean, without name, inscription or bookplate. There is toning/spotting to the verso of the front free endpaper and facing recto of the frontispiece although the image is not affected and the usual ghosting from the images on the facing captioned guards.
