Confederate States of America Loan of One Hundred Dollars.

Authorized by the Act of Congress C.S.A. of February 20th 1863. No. 24699.

Eligible to be paid in full with 7% interest on July 1, 1868.

Signed by Robert Tyler, Register of the Treasury, Richmond, March 2, 1863.

10 interest coupons, most of which are worth $3.50 for 6 months interest, are attached to the bond.

Illustrated. 14 by 17 inches, folded.


Robert Tyler, Confederate Register of the Treasury during the Civil War, was the eldest son of

John Tyler, the tenth President of the United States. Previously, he served as private secretary for

his father's presidential administration. In later life, he was the editor of the Montgomery

Advertiser. His wife, Priscilla Cooper Tyler, acted as First Lady of the United States from

September 10, 1842, to June 26, 1844, between the death of her mother-in-law and President

Tyler's remarriage.


Slightly soiled, with light chipping along center fold, o/w Very Nice.
