1968 McGraw Hill first edition. Ex high school library copy.

Condition of the book is Very Good Minus. The binding is straight and sound. Inside pages are complete and clean.

Condition of the dust jacket is Very Good. The DJ is complete, not price clipped, and is protected in a new mylar cover.

Condition issues are associated with library markings. They include (see photos):

1) Light tape marks on the boards, and more noticeable tape marks on the endpapers from where the old dust jacket cover was taped to the book.

2) An ownership stamp and circulation number on the title page

3) A library discard stamp on the front pastedown endpaper

4) Light ownership stamps on the outside edges of the text block

5) Glue remnants from a circulation sticker on the lower spine of the dust jacket

Synopsis

Desert Solitaire: A Season in the Wilderness is a literary nonfiction work by Edward Abbey (1927–89), published originally in 1968. His fourth book and his first book length non-fiction work, it followed three fictional books, Jonathan Troy, The Brave Cowboy, and Fire on the Mountain. It was his biggest success to date and brought him critical acclaim and popularity as a nature writer.
