Bound in red half morocco, titles and elaborate tooling to spine gilt, raised bands, marbled boards, endpapers and edges. Very clean, tight copy With illustrations by S.L.Fildes. A handsomely bound copy. The author's final work, it remained unfinished at the time of his death, in June 1870, and has prompted much speculation as to the resolution of the mystery.
