Signed. Near Fine / no jacket. The Koon Kreek Klub is one of the oldest and most exclusive hunting and fishing clubs that almost nobody has ever heard of. Founded in 1902, south of Athens, Texas, by Dallas businessmen. The provocative name is the result of it being located on Koon Kreek in Henderson Co. You can't buy your way in. This is old Dallas and Texas money. I heard there's a 40 year waiting list. In the 1990's, when George W Bush was Governor of Texas, it was said that he was a member. The name of the club raised some eyebrows, so it was changed to the Coon Creek Club around 1997. It's still pretty rustic; just hunting and fishing, no golf. Book is in fine condition with only 2 very small scuffs on the back cover and a slightly bumped spine on the bottom. Privately published by the club without an ISBN. Inscribed and signed by the author on the title page. Bonus: Coon Creek Club gimme cap from the 2004 Fish Fiesta (included with purchase).

Signed and dated by the author on the front endpaper. Some rubbing on the top of the spine, otherwise clean and tight. Dust jacket has some shelf wear, especially to the top of the spine. The previous owner has signed his name on the inside cover; this is a feature because the previous owner has been a prominent African- American attorney in Dallas since the 1970's. The book was purchased from the estate. There is some underlining in the book, significant because of the previous owner. A book shop sticker on the back cover is from the Black Images Book Bazaar.The book is an examination of the politics of race relations, especially with regard to housing and development, in Dallas, Texas in the 1950's, 60's and 70's. There has been some controversy about what happened to the first, and only printing of the book. The book has recently been rediscovered and has been reissued.

Book is in original publishers' shrink wrap. Unknown edition. There is a very slight bump to the bottom front and back spine, but the shrink wrap is not torn.

Signed by Andy Warhol (twice). Seminal work of words and photographs by one of America's most important pop culture artists. Photographs of people, places and scenes of Warhol's world in the 80's. The book is in near fine condition with only the slightest shelf wear. The corners are square, the binding is tight and the pages are clean and unmarked. Warhol has signed twice, once on the cover and again on the title page. The title page signature has an inscription, which I can't read, and a giant heart, with his signature below.

3 books in red slipcase. 'The Texas Connection' by Thonhoff, 1981. 'El Fuerte Del Cibolo' by Thonhoff, 1992. 'Forgotten Battlefield of the First Texas Revolution' by Schwarz (edited by Thonhoff), 1985. Each of the books is First Edition. The books are in fine, as new condition, as is the slipcase. Laid in is a flyer announcing the set. Handwritten on the flyer is "Slipcase Set #30 / 100. At the bottom is the authors signature and the date 4/12/92. The author's imprint is over the signature. Each of the books is inscribed to Bob, Dee and Tom Ruckman and dated and signed. Under each signature it is written "John Ruckman House". The Ruckman's are founders of Old Helena, Texas in Karnes County, on the South Texas Coastal Plains. The John Ruckman House is still there and has a Historical Marker. The Ruckmans, to whom the book is inscribed, are descended from John Ruckman. A historically significant set.

450 illustrations, by 50 graphic artists, including 5 original engravings. The original engravings are by: Alberto Beltran, Alfredo Zalce, Francisco Mora, Gabriel Fernandez Ledesma and Leopoldo Mendez. Each of the engravings is pencil signed. This is a spiral bound softcover book. The spine shows no sign of wear, all the corners are square, and the pages are clean and unmarked. A previous owners name is written in ink on the half title page; therefore, this is a near fine copy.

The history of Mexico told from the perspective of common folks down through the ages. The author was a Choctaw from Oklahoma and he identified with the indigenous people when he went down there to live. Told not just from the standpoint of historical events, but with the perspective of native myths and legends. The book is inscribed to Col. Harry C. Stewart of Dallas, Texas. Col. Stewart was a farm and ranch supply distributor. Col. Stewart's son, Peter Stewart, grew the business into the largest ranch supply distributorship in America. Peter Stewart also was a big philanthropist and created Thanksgiving Square in downtown Dallas. In addition, he commissioned a 60' mosaic mural on the side of his office building in 1954, by famed Mexican artist, Miguel Covarrubias. Signed by artist. Jasper Johns has been called the greatest living American Artist. He is associated with Abstract Expressionism, Neo-Dada and pop art. Honors include the National Medal of Art and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. His works have sold for the most by any living artist. This is the softcover exhibition catalogue from a 5 city tour (2 in the US) in 1978. Laid in is an invitation to the Members Preview of the exhibition where it mentions that the artist will be present. I really don't know if this is a first edition, I just presume so since this is a short tour. The laid in invitation is photographed with the artists signature page. Jasper Johns has signed and dated on the first free end page (no inscription). The date on the signature corresponds with the date of the Members Preview on the invitation. The book is in near fine condition, the corners are square, and the pages are clean and unmarked.

Signed and inscribed by author. The late architect O'Neil Ford was designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Council on the Arts; the only individual to ever be given that title. He was a regional architect who incorporated modern European design with early Texas architecture. He designed a lot of really great buildings, public and private. The author, the late David Dillon, was the architecture critic for the Dallas Morning News for 25 years. He was widely respected and, for many, a driving force for Dallas urban design during the important last 2 decades of the 20th century. He had a national stature. This is volume 1 of a 5 volume publication put out annually from 1920 to 1924. it was a survey of contemporary developments in European visual arts. This is a German language book published in Leipzig. There are 8 original prints bound into the book: 4 lithographs by Max Pechstein, Erich Waske, Max Burchartz and Josef Eberz. 3 woodcuts by E. Adam Weber, Lyonel Feininger and Franz Nitzsche. 1 linoleum cut by Wilhelm Morgner. Also included is a facsimile letter from Wilhelm Morgner (pg 218). The cover (front and back) is a partial reproduction of a print which, I think, is a print by Pechstein. There are many reproductions of contemporary art throughout the book. Laid in is a 4 page brochure from the publisher. The spine cover is gone and there is edge wear all around, but the binding is surprisingly tight, and the pages are clean and unmarked except for the last page which has some cryptic stamps and writing at the bottom. Too bad about the spine, but the interior of the book looks very good.

Second edition, no date. The first edition was 1846. Green leather boards are scuffed at the head and tail and the corners, but the binding is tight. All 60 hand colored plates are present. There is a stain in the middle of the leading edge which permeates into the pages for a half inch. It looks like a water stain. It diminishes by page 40. The stain does not intrude onto the images on the plates. There is toning throughout. There is a gift inscription dated 1913, "Elizabeth Evelyn Halton from her aunt Evelyn Houson, who had it from her grandfather William Bickmore, October 21st, 1913". Genealogy reveals that there was an Elizabeth Evelyn Halton (born 1900), whose mothers maiden name was Houson. If that is so, she then married George Lionel Pepler, who later was knighted in 1948, at which time she became Lady Pepler. The saga of desegregation in the Dallas Public Schools. Following the Supreme Court order in Brown vs Topeka (Board of Education), Dallas' reluctance to desegregate resulted in the school district being under the surveillance of the Federal District Court. In 1994, after 40 years, the District Court released its surveillance and declared the school district in compliance. An interesting companion piece to Jim Schutz' 'The Accommodation', which cover much of the same period except it's focus is housing. The book is in fine, like new condition. The dust jacket has a fold on the inside front flap, otherwise fine.

First printing by Turnpike Press, the book was subsequently published by Simon & Schuster. Great old time country recipes. The 7 page introduction by Ms. Gaskin is a must read. The book has gotten wet and is wrinkled and lightly stained for an inch down from the top. The pages are lightly and evenly toned. There is damage at the top and bottom of the spine and there is shelf wear. The pages are clean and unmarked. Listed as Good.

First Edition. 1934. Series of 7 pastel paintings by Dallas' first important artist. Pamphlet is 28 pages, 20 of which have printing on them. Reaugh presents the Forward and there is text to accompany each of the 7 plates. One of Reaugh's paintings hung in the White House when the younger George Bush was President. The wrappers are patterned board with the loose pages bound with cord tied at the back. The covers have shelf wear and there is very minor bumping on the corners. The gilt has worn off the title on the cover, you can barely make out the slightly embossed title. The interior of the book is like new. Listed as very good plus.
