About This Item
This is really a bound series of articles from Field and Laboratory Journal. Dr Geiser was a biologist and a science historian. He taught at 4 Universities including at SMU for 33 years. His book 'Naturalists of the Frontier' was the first book published by SMU Press in 1937. This book, or series of Journal articles, appears to be a continuation of that earlier work. the book is a lot of short biographies of old time scientists and academics on the frontier. In a list of books published by SMU Press, this book is not in there. It has been suggested that SMU Press may have published a small number of this book as an honor to Dr Geiser. At any rate, it's rare. There is no dust jacket, it may not have been issued with one. The book is in near fine condition without any issues at all except it's 64 years old. The book is inscribed to Dr. Jim Brooks, a colleague at SMU, and signed on the front free end page. Laid in is a note on a little scrap of paper "Dr. Brooks, Come up and receive your reward of merit, Pronto".
